Vanessa Porter is one of the most versatile percussionists of her generation. As a soloist, she combines
contemporary works with improvisation, electronics and performance art, collaborating with composers
such as Georges Aperghis, Zeynep Gedizlioglu and Jennifer Walshe. She is a first prize winner of
competitions including the August Everding Competition and the International Percussion Competition
Luxembourg. An ECHO Rising Star 2022/23, she has performed in Europe’s leading concert halls and
debuted in 2024 with the Deutsches Symphonie-Orchester Berlin. In 2025/26, she will premiere Samir
Odeh-Tamimi’s Éndropía and perform Rebecca Saunders’ Void for percussion duo and orchestra together
with Emil Kuyumcuyan. Since 2024 she has been professor of percussion at the Hochschule für Musik
Karlsruhe.

season at LOBE Space. The focus will be on works by Georges Aperghis and Rebecca Saunders: music and
sounds that intertwine percussion, voice and body into an intense overall experience, transporting the
audience into unheard soundscapes…
