In their innovative duo project, Schunke and Geerken develop a unique and new sound – never heard before in a duo setting.

Sebastian Schunke was the first European to achieve an international reputation in the world of Latin jazz through his work as a composer and jazz pianist. The award-winning C. Bechstein artist has been considered a style influencer of a new, modern, European-influenced Latin jazz for several years, with which he has enjoyed success around the world. With highly acclaimed CD releases and tours through Asia, Latin America, Africa, Europe and the USA, the former New York resident and now Berlin resident Sebastian Schunke has secured a permanent place for himself at the top of the international Latin jazz scene. Renowned artists such as Paquito d’Rivera, Nils Wogram, Antonio Sanchez, Richie Flores and John Benitez were enthusiastic about Schunke’s new style and are part of his international work. He recently became the first German artist ever to be awarded the “Cuban Grammy” Cubadisco for his work.
