Eva Zalenga’s great passion is for Lied and she delights the press and audiences alike with her expressive
voice and her fine sense of nuance. The soprano, who has attracted attention in recent years with
impressive performances at the Royal Danish Opera and the Deutsche Oper Berlin, takes her audience on
a musical journey through three centuries.
Following the success of her debut CD ‘In Relations’, which she recorded together with her pianist and
accompanist Doriana Tchakarova, she will now present her new album ‘varia-bel’ in a pre-release concert
at the Lobe Block in Berlin on 4 February 2025.

Eva Zalenga will be accompanied by pianist Doriana Tchakarova, one of today’s leading song
accompanists, who enjoys the highest recognition for her extraordinary expertise and her discoveries of
forgotten works – especially by female composers – and has impressed with five new releases this year.
The duo is complemented by clarinet, violin and cello.
The varied programme offers classics of the Romantic period, Irish folk songs and a world premiere
recording.
The Lobe Canteen opens at 18:00 and offers a relaxed atmosphere before the concert.

Program
With ‘varia-bel’, soprano Eva Zalenga presents an album full of musical versatility. The versatility is
reflected in the title and the cover image, which shows her in five different roles. Following the success
of her debut CD ‘In Relations’, Eva Zalenga has now put together a new album with her pianist and
accompanist Doriana Tchakarova that takes her polyglotically through three centuries. Complemented
by clarinet, violin and cello, the result is a colourful chamber music line-up that combines classics such as
Schubert’s ‘Der Hirt auf dem Felsen’, Irish folk songs, rare works by Rebecca Clarke and Pauline Viardot-
Garcia as well as a world premiere recording. ‘varia – bel’ will be released on 7 th February on the label
GENUIN as a prize-winning CD of the German Music Competition.
